Craft of the Week ⁞ T-Shirt Head Band

This is an extremely easy one and you probably wont need to buy a thing to make it.  I think its a great way to reuse old baby and kids clothes.  If you are like me its hard getting rid of you babies outgrown clothes so I like it because its like my own little memory accessory.

What you need:

1. Old T-shirts

2. Scissors

3. Rubber Bands

How to make it:

1.  Cut strips out of you shirt about an inch thick

 (you'll need three total)

 2. Stretch the strips of shirt so they get thin and roll as shown below

 3. Cut the strips so they are long pieces of fabric rather than circles of fabric and rubber band the three strips together at one end

 4.  Cut the other end of the fabric strips so they are all even

 5. Braid

 6. Rubber band them together and the end of the braid, make sure you rubber band it at a spot tight enough to fit your head

 But it didn't stay there for long.

DIY Home Decor and More (Spring Inspired!)

I like how simple this coat/bag rack is.  I think you can find a place in pretty much every home for something like this whether it be by the front door, in a closet, in a baby or toddlers room.  I can think of a ton of great ideas for this.  And its cheap!  You just need wood, knobs, paint and a little imagination!

This one is so cute!  The instruction look a little intimidating but if you have a little time and patience I think it would be well worth the try! Im definitely going to take a stab at this one.

This is a fabulous idea with spring now here! Great way to add some extra color to a dull space.

Here is another spring idea.  I think this butterfly bouquet would be great not only for a wedding but you can also put it in a vase to add color to a room or use it as an accent in a little girls room. Adorable! 

Black & White

I am loving how beautiful a simple picture looks in black and white

And to me there is nothing sweeter in the world then seeing my baby girl look up into her daddy's eyes while gently caressing his cheek 

Pure bliss.

Craft of the Week ⁞ Bird Feeder

Spring is finally here!  I am excited about giving my backyard a makeover.  This easy little craft is a great accent to any backyard and its very nice to watch as the birds come to enjoy.

What you will need:

1. An old picture frame

2. Chains (I got mine from Home Depot in the hardware section for $4)

3.  Four screws with a hook on the end

4. An "S" hook (not pictured)

5. A piece of screen ( I bought an entire screen door screen replacement at Home Depot for $6)

6. A hot glue gun

 How to make it:

1. Cut the screen to fit the back of your picture frame

 2. Hot glue the screen to the back of the picture frame (you can use cardboard to press the glue and screen firmly onto the frame)

 3. Screw your hooks into each end of the picture frame

 4. hook the chains onto the frame and connect the four chains at the top with the "S" hook.

 5.  Hang the frame on a tree outside and scatter bird seed over the screen

 Here is a picture of my first visitor! I have this hanging in a place that I can see it out of a window with a comfy chair in front so I can bird watch like the little old lady I am slowly turning into.

Weekend Photos

Hope everyone had a great weekend! 

Here are some pics I took of the babies over the weekend while tinkering around on the camera.

Maybe one day I will have some time to set aside to learn how to take some better photos but for now these make me smile all the same.

Japan ♥

My heart goes out to the people of Japan.  I find myself thinking about this tragedy non stop.  I am looking for a way to feel better about what is happening but there is NONE.  I think that the best we can do to help is pray and meditate that they are okay and that they can find peace in this awful situation.  I also think that we can help by making a donation. ANYTHING helps, even if its $1.  I have found some websites that you can easily make a donation to.

DIY Home Decor and More

I love this book shelf made from dresser drawers! Such a clever idea that I would have NEVER thought of on my own. I think it could be really useful if you have a dresser you no longer need.

And this idea is from the same blog...easy and cute! (especially if you enjoy wine and hate just throwing away the bottles)

I LOVE this idea.  Its a great way to organize and recycle shoe boxes! 

This is such a cute headboard! and you can make this idea your own very easily.

Lastly, I love these "Pom Pom Vines".  Its obviously not a permanent decoration for outside but i though it would also be cute for inside.  I imagine how could these could look hanging above a babies crib as a mobile!
